Day 162, Sunday, November 13

Left Debbie’s house around noon today and drove down to San Diego. I’d initially planned on leaving tomorrow but after seeing how bad the traffic was yesterday and Friday here in LA, there was no way in hell I wanted to brave that traffic on a Monday morning. Screw that. I think I’d rather shove burning bamboo spikes under my fingernails than have to drive through countless hours of stop and go gridlock just to clear LA. The ride itself was uneventful and I made it to Peter’s in the day light. I’ll only be here for one day before leaving to Vegas and then for Denver, CO Springs, Bryce, Zion, and the Grand Canyon.
This evening I went over to Karen Torgersen’s house for dinner and cards with three of her friends. Had a great time and came home with a doggy bag of food and plans to go mountain biking with Karen tomorrow. She’s going to kick my ass out on the trail!
