Day 4, Monday, June 20
Today was another day of burning up highway miles. This time the road carried me from Kent, OH to Chicago where I’m staying with Darren Borrowski. I met Darren a little more than a year ago but already consider him among my closest friends in Chicago. Darren is one of the most engaging conversationalists I know and I’ve got him to thank for getting my hooked on snow boarding. I’ve also got him to thank for introducing me to another set of friends John and Yesenia Baker whom I hope to visit in the latter stages of this trip (Late August/early Sep?) Unfortunately I’m only going to be in Chicago for a day this time so I’m going to have to keep the list of people I visit fairly short. My single best friend in Chicago, Tania White, live downstairs from Darren and will actually be joining me on my trip for several days in Yellowstone. Tania is another one of these people whom I’ve known for a relatively brief time (a couple of years) but with whom I’ve developed a friendship that will definitely last a life time. We’ve taken vacations to St Kitts Island in the Caribbean, and to Key West and I even spent Christmas two years ago with Tania and her parents in West Palm Beach. Also there with us for that Christmas was another Chicago friend, Jeanette Schuler. Jeanette will be joining me on my trip for a weekend in Wine Country in CA.
